The School of Economics and Management (SEM) serves as a subsidiary academic unit of SSPU, tracing its roots back to the establishment of the Department of Management in 1985. Over time, it evolved into the School of Business Administration in 1994 and underwent internal restructuring in 2002, leading to its current designation as the School of Economics and Management. Presently, the SEM boasts a faculty of 114 members, encompassing 85 full-time educators, 8 professors, and 31 associate professors. The student body comprises nearly 2,800 full-time undergraduates, over 100 international students, and a cohort of more than 100 postgraduate students. Focused on the disciplines of management and economics, the SEM offers a diverse range of 10 undergraduate degree programs, including International Business, Logistics Management, E-Commerce, Credit Management, Financial Management, Exhibition Economy and Management, Hospitality Management, Investment Studies, Taxation, and Standardization Engineering.

SEM primarily concentrates on its undergraduate offerings. However, in 2022, the SEM launched its inaugural master's degree program in International Business, which received approval from the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council. The program welcomed its first cohort in 2023, currently educating 60 domestic graduate students and one international student.
